Getting to Kodari

Kodari is the border city of Nepal and next to the border is Zhangmu town in Tibet. One has to cross the Friendship Bridge to enter China.
The best way by bus is through Pokhara, the second largest city in Nepal. And there are quite a few local buses available from Pokhara (8 hrs). It might be possible that a transfer needs to be made in Dhangadhi or Kathmandu (6 hrs). Alternatively, one can also get here by hiring a taxi for 2 hours for Rs 2,000 plus a 12% fuel charge.

Best Time To Visit

There are a lot of restrictions in China as people from outside of China are not allowed to spend more than a day in Zhangmu town. They also have to come with their original passport and have a valid visas. Entry is not restricted to children under 16 years old.
